Antwerp is the second largest port in Europe and the fourth
largest in the world. About 150 million tones of cargo is
handled there every year.
In fact Antwerp is really three ports which deal with
bulk cargo, containers and cruisers.
The cruise port is popular for cruisers because it is only
300 meters for the historic city centre.
DENMARK
Aalborg
Aalborg is one of Denmark’s leading ports and handles all
types of cargo including bulk cargo (coal, grain etc.) and
containers.
The port is also popular with cruise ships visiting
Scandinavia, Denmark and North Jutland.

NETHERLANDS
Rotterdam
This is the largest port in Europe. It handles almost four times
as much cargo as the nest three largest ports combined
(Antwerp, Hamburg and Marseille).
Huge quantities of bulk cargo pass through every day. The port
is surrounded by an industrial area where oil refineries and
other factories process the imports.
GERMANY
Hamburg
Hamburg is the largest port in Germany. It is also the ninth
largest container port in the world. The world’s largest
container ships frequently call to Hamburg.
The port is equipped with many cranes and siphons for
handling liquid cargo. All kinds of bulk cargo are handled.
It is interesting that Hamburg is also the world’s largest centre for trading
carpets, pharmaceutical raw materials and coffee.
